I honestly get the self insert harem protag hate. Like why is this person who has no character or beliefs attracting so many women? It’s like that girl from twilight who’s boring and bland on purpose so that young teenage girls can imprint their own beliefs and emotions onto her and live vicariously through her. It’s not good storytelling it’s bland and unoriginal. If you want a good harem protagonist make him likeable and make him stand for something. Give him a spine and some kind of purpose in the world.

I'm kind of conflicted. One hand yeah like the harem protag is being a dick by stringing these girls along so fuck him for playing with their emotions. I do like how the 'NTR Bastard' shows genuine interest and love to the girl and wants to be with her. On the other hand the blackmail stuff is very scummy, plus why not just start off small like the guy could've instead shown genuine interest in her, take her on dates, etc etc to show her how a person that would want to date you tries to win your heart instead of string you along.

But that's asking too much for hentai artists to actually write a good story, so this had NTR underlying tones but it's kinda deserved NTR in a way? Is there a subgenre for that kind of content? Could be new doujinshi's that have the NTR fantasies but the prick is being cucked because hes emotionally abusive, physically abusive, or both and the 'NTR Bastard' shows the neglected partner what it actually means to be in love.
